Black Lives Matter flag in Milton torn down, stolen

A Black Lives Matter flag that has flown outside of Milton High School since August 2019 was stolen overnight.

At around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, an individual in black clothing stacked a series of objects next to the flag pole, climbed up, and cut the rope that held the flag, taking it with them. The event was captured by security cameras. Milton High School re-raised the flag today at 5 p.m., documenting the event live on Instagram.

This morning at approximately 7 a.m. a member of the staff of the high school reported the missing flag to the police.

The police have not yet been able to identify the individual who stole the flag and are seeking additional information as well as private security camera footage. Anyone with information can contact the Milton Police Department at 802-893-2424.
