The Burlington Free Press will be extending our delivery deadline for the print edition to 8 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sundays for the duration of the governor’s order for Vermont residents to stay at home.

The order, issued by Gov. Phil Scott to slow spread of the new coronavirus, took effect March 25 and will remain in effect until at least April 15.

Symptoms of COVID-19, the official name of the disease related to the coronavirus, can include fever, cough and breathing trouble. Most develop only mild symptoms. But some people, usually those with other medical complications, develop more severe symptoms, including pneumonia, which can be fatal.

Newspaper carriers and haulers are taking every precaution necessary to keep a safe distance during this pandemic and will need extra time to ensure proper delivery.
