Burlington restaurant to reopen after shutting down over COVID-19 concerns

A Burlington restaurant that shut down over the weekend because a staff member was potentially exposed to COVID-19 is reopening for business Thursday.

The Daily Planet announced Wednesday night on social media that the Center Street restaurant will be up and running again at 5 p.m. Thursday.

“As you may know, last weekend we heard that one of our staff members may have been exposed to COVID-19,” a post on Facebook reads. “We decided to temporarily close out of an abundance of caution and concern for the health of our community and our team while we waited for test results. Today (Wednesday) it was confirmed that the staff member was NOT exposed, and furthermore all of our staff test results have come back negative.”

The post thanks customers “for your patience, kind words and support during our closure.”
