A federal grand jury on Thursday indicted former UVM emergency room doctor Eike Blohm on one count of production of child pornography.

Blohm, 38, of South Burlington, was first arrested by Burlington Police on April 17 after a video camera device was discovered in an air freshener in a unisex bathroom at the University of Vermont Medical Center. When the camera was seized, investigators discovered approximately 900 videos of hospital employees in states of undress, and another 21 videos of a nude minor bathing at a different location.

Investigators subsequently searched Blohm’s iPad and discovered approximately 132 unrelated images of child pornography.

Blohm was fired from UVM medical center after his arrest.

The indictment was made on June 18, about a month after Blohm’s first court appearance on May 22. If charged, the government intends to seek forfeiture of Blohm’s real and personal property.

Blohm’s prosecution is part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood, an initiative to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.

A date has not been set yet for Blohm’s arraignment.
