Many are taking to the kitchen these days baking bread and desserts while passing the time in social isolation. To see how to do it well, you could aspire to the level of Thomas McCurdy, who recently won his competition episode on the Food Network show, Chopped Sweets.

The Burlington Farmers Market Instagram account posted an announcement of the Northeast Kingdom baker’s win.

McCurdy’s episode entitled “Breakfast for Dessert” aired April 13. It was episode 12 of the first season of Chopped Sweets on the Food Network. In the episode, competitors made “a coffee drink, a cleverly designed candy and waffle dough”, according to the show’s website. The prize is $10,000.

McCurdy runs the Ardelia Farm & Co. Bakery where he makes baked goods for farmers markets, special occasion desserts and wedding cakes, according to the Ardelia Farm website.
