Vermont Summer Baseball League: Playoff results through Thursday’s playdowns

The Vermont Summer Baseball League wrapped its first and only regular season on Tuesday night.

Attention now turns to the independent league’s one-and-done tournament.

The playoff pairings were announced Wednesday morning for the single-elimination, four-day format that opens Thursday afternoon and wraps with Sunday’s noon championship matchup at Maxfield Sports Complex in White River Junction.

S.D. Ireland, with a 14-1 league record, has earned the top seed. Second seed Lakes Region (13-3) and No. 3 White River Junction (12-4) join S.D. Ireland with first-round byes.
