What’s being added to one of Burlington’s most eye-catching Hill Section homes?

Workers with Richmond-based Birdseye architects and builders assemble a wood frame along a home at Cliff and S. Willard streets in Burlington on Sept. 30, 2020.

Low-slung and modern, a large single-family house on Cliff Street in Burlington is in the middle of an ambitious makeover.

The home snugs into the steep hillside, its straight-angled, dark walls brightened by an expanse of west-facing windows.

Right beside it, just to the north on South Willard Street, crews have excavated another building site.

Another two-story structure is taking shape, one that will take most of the winter to complete.
